Sam King was baptized in 1959 at the age of 13. His mother who was a member of the Church in Spencer, Oklahoma taught him. He sang in the church quartet as a teen and traveled to various congregations.

He met and later married the lovely Fern Carson in 1967. Fern was baptized in Anchorage, Alaska in 1975.
Sam & Fern have a son, Vashaun Lance who was baptized by Sam in 1999. Lance married his wife, TaShauna in 2006 and Sam and Fern are blessed with a granddaughter, Tiana Lavon who is now 9 1/2 years old.

Sam served in the U.S. Air Force from 1967-1976 and left with an honorable discharge. He began seminar-training courses for personal evangelism in 1977 and received a certificate. The family settled in San Diego, California and Sam attended courses in Business Administration at various colleges. Later in 1979, he attended the Evangelism School of Preaching in Buena Park, California and received a diploma in 1982.
Brother King has also served as Bus Minister for the Inglewood Church of Christ. After moving to Riverside County, Sam began part-time preaching for 3 years in 1984, what was then called Sunnymead Church of Christ and is now the Church of Christ Moreno Valley. For a number of years, Sam and Fern attended various Churches of Christ in the Inland Empire, eventually settling in Moreno Valley.
Currently, Sam is one of the elders at the Church of Christ in Moreno Valley. Serving now since 2002. Sam’s other attributes: Evangelist, a part-time minister, marriage counselor, and teaching the Sunday morning adult Bible class.
